How can someone get involved at Barren Ridge?

Church goers are always welcome to come to the services and quietly leave or simply watch alone in their home on Facebook. For some people that is comfortable, but for others they want to be more than bench warmers and become a part of the family but do not know how to make the connection. Get involved! How does someone get involved at Barren Ridge?

1. Participate in a Sunday School class. We have classes for children which are aged based and for adults which are style based. Whether you enjoy a lecture style class or a group discussion on various topics, we provide both. Joining a Sunday School class is the start to connecting you with members. If you are already coming to one of the services, you will just need to stay an hour after early service or come an hour early if you attend the 11 o’clock service.

2. Join an activity group. Barren Ridge offers a variety of groups that meet regularly. If you enjoy singing, join the choir. If you are athletic, our softball team would love for you to come play with them. We also provide a regular stretching and flexibility class, women’s fellowship, men’s fellowship, and young adult CIA (Christians In Action) group who aim to spread God’s love and work in unique ways.

3. Come to a special event. From our candle light Christmas Eve services, to our vacation bible school (also offered to adults), to game nights (often involving ice cream), to skill building events (like a flower arrangement class), Barren Ridge offers opportunities throughout the year to people of all ages. It is during these events that we have an opportunity to share with one another more about ourselves, fostering bonds between people.

4. Eat with us! Do you like to eat? Well so do we. Multiple times throughout the year our congregation sits down to break bread together for either a pot-luck style meal or something sponsored by one of our groups. There is always more than enough to feed the congregation and visitors. This casual atmosphere allows us room to bind together in joyous fellowship.
Whichever way you prefer to connect, we would love to know you more.
